Ruth Carlson

Born Ruth Cremen in Philadelphia, Penn., Nov. 29, 1916, Ruth and her sister Frances traveled to San Francisco after World War II in 1947. Ruth was a buyer for I. Magnin department store for many years. She married Dr. Wendell Carlson and moved to Tiburon. With her business partner, Ed Wieger, Ruth started their own women's clothing business, "Mademoiselle."

After retiring, she did volunteer work for many years for the Belvedere-Tiburon Library. She passed away peacefully in her home Dec. 24, 2016. Ruth is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Her husband predeceased her. All who knew her will greatly miss her counsel and her stories.

Per her wishes, no services will be held.
