Ann Scott Huntington

On November 8, Ann Huntington peacefully passed away from cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. She graduated from the Katherine Delmar Burke School, then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University, where she met and married Phillip West.

Ann and Phil lived in Belvedere and Tiburon, CA, while they raised their four children. After their children were grown, Ann focused on her many passions, including family, travel, art, and all forms of nature. She was also a 19-year member of Toastmasters, an organization devoted to the art of public speaking, where she received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Ann was involved in the community, including volunteering in Marin General's ER for 20 years, and The Redwoods senior community for five years before becoming a resident in 2013. Ann decided to move into The Redwoods in light of her gradually diminishing eyesight. She enjoyed being part of a community of wonderful people from all walks of life. She loved playing bridge, knitting with the Purlettes, visiting with her new friends and taking walks and excursions around the area.

Ann is survived by her children, Greg West (Delise) of Somersworth, NH, John West of San Rafael, CA, and Diane West of San Diego, CA; and grandchildren Jackson West and David West. Ann was preceded in death by her son David John West (Susan), and husbands Phillip West, Henry Eder and John Huntington.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society, Hospice by the Bay, The Redwoods or a charity of your choice.

A toasting of margaritas will be held Sunday, Dec. 10, from 2-5pm at The Cantina in Mill Valley. For additional information, email dwest@twoconnect.net.
