E. Arthur Ross

Art Ross of Mill Valley transitioned to his eternal reward, which leads us to reflect on a life well lived: his life. He was a man of integrity and kindness with a quick wit that was maintained to the end.

Art was born on Webster Street in San Francisco in 1917. He graduated from Mission High School in 1935. He was a San Francisco fireman, a member of "The Red Hots Team," from 1940 to 1945 before starting his own successful business, Fashion Drapery Company, which still exists today. Art loved the outdoors and enjoyed golf, tennis, boating and skiing. He was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, SIRS, the Tiburon Peninsula Club and the Richardson Bay Yacht Club.

Art is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan; their children, Catherine Pegeron, Jennifer Ross and Steven Ross; and grandchildren Ashley and Ryan Kristensen, Dustin Ross and Shaina McLorg; and great-granddaughter Sasha. He is preceded in death by his son David and Art's brothers, George and David.

Art is also survived by three children with a former spouse, Dyanne Bailey, Dennis Ross and Nancy O'Neill. There are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews who will remember him with love.
Joan wishes to express gratitude to Carroll Pegeron, her son-in-law, along with her children, for making it possible for Art to be at home surrounded by loving care.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 3 Oakdale Avenue in Mill Valley on June 17 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, St. Anthony's Foundation or your favorite charity.
