Jeffrey Steven Barnes

Thirteen-year Tiburon resident Jeffrey Steven Barnes, 48, passed away on January 2, 2016, in San Francisco.

Jeff was born in Memphis, TN, on May 27, 1967, and grew up in Lawton, OK, where he earned the honor of Eagle Scout. He attended Southern Methodist University, where he earned a BBA in Finance, and graduated magna cum laude in 1989. While at SMU, Jeff was a member of Lambda Chi fraternity. In 1992, Jeff earned a MS in Management from the London School of Economics.

Jeff was a devoted husband to wife, Jennifer Woodhouse Barnes, during their 20-year marriage. He was also a loving father to his three children. In addition to Jennifer, he is survived by Grant (15), Jessica (13), and Gavin (7), of Tiburon; parents Joan and John Barnes; sister Melissa Barnes McAllister; brother-in-law Ben McAllister; and niece and nephew Claire and Hayden McAllister, all of Oklahoma City, OK.

In 2005, Jeff co-founded Clean Pacific Ventures in San Francisco, and was a general partner there for the past 10 years. Previously, he was a marketing and business executive at Purfresh and Vocal Point, and spent five years at Bain & Company in private equity and technology consulting. Jeff also served his community as an active member of the Tiburon Peninsula Club, Hillside Church of Marin, Rotary Club of San Francisco, and as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scouts of America.

The public is invited to join in a service to celebrate Jeff's life on Saturday, January 23, at 10:00 am at Hillside Church, 5461 Paradise Drive in Corte Madera. A reception will follow at The Tiburon Peninsula Club, 1600 Mar West Street, Tiburon.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a gift to the Barnes Family Memorial Fund benefiting the Barnes children in the areas of education, health and other immediate needs. Gifts can be made online via
