Jacqueline Kenfield Crowder

Jacqueline Kenfield Crowder passed away at her home in Tiburon with her husband, Bob, by her side on Friday, September 16, 2016. Jackie had recently celebrated her 91st birthday and 70th wedding anniversary. She was born in San Francisco July 16, 1925. Her mother was Mildred Laird Kenfield, daughter of James Todd Laird, an early state senator from Modoc County, Ca. Her father was Martin Elmer Kenfield. She attended Lowell High School, where she was student vice president and a cheerleader with future San Francisco Chronicle columnist Art Hoppe.
She attended the University of Oregon and studied modern dance. She and Bob were married June 15, 1946, in San Francisco, where they lived; they eventually moved to Walnut Creek, where they raised four children. They moved to Huntington, N.Y., and lived there for eleven years before returning to the Bay Area in 1967 and settling in Tiburon. Jackie became one of the owners of Shorebirds boutique in Tiburon and became involved with the Craft and Folk Art Museum in San Francisco.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Robert Salem Crowder; her children Sally Crowder Leonard, James Ellsworth Crowder and Margaret Crowder Campbell; grandchildren Meagan Crowder Young, James Nicholas Leonard and Robert Carlo Crowder; and great-grandchildren Wilbur Fenelon Young and Ava Marie Young. Her son Robert Bruce Crowder predeceased her.
