Mary Lou Pasquel
Dec. 27, 1941-Aug. 23, 2016

Mary Lou Pasquel passed peacefully and without pain on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2016.
She grew up in Buffalo, N.Y., then attended college in Ecuador, where she met and married Marcelo Pasquel and lived for many years. During her time in Ecuador, Mary Lou embraced the culture and the people embraced her. In 1977, when Mary Lou returned to the U.S., she landed in Marin County, where she ran The Dock Restaurant (later renamed Mr. Q's), a family business, until the Main Street Tiburon fixture closed in 1995.
Everyone who met Mary Lou became her friend. Her easy-going manner, her ready laugh, her love of life and her deep interest in those around her made her a popular figure up and down Main Street and in greater Marin.
Mary Lou died like she lived, mid-sentence. She leaves behind her sons Jim and Ned and daughter Meg, her grandchildren Quinn and Kate Vangelos and George Pasquel, and sisters Nancy Quinlivan and Kathy Thornton. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her daughter, Abby.
A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 3 Oakdale Ave. in Mill Valley, Calif., on Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. All are welcome.
