Cynthia Murray Stallone

Cynthia Murray Stallone, a longtime Belvedere and Tiburon resident, died Dec. 20, 2013, of cancer. She was 53.

Born in Oakland and raised in Mill Valley, Mrs. Stallone graduated from Tamalpais High School and attended San Diego State University.

She worked in the hospitality industry for a number of years and became director of marketing at Meadowood Resort in St. Helena. She gave up her job to become a full-time mother.

Watching her children grow up was the biggest joy in her life, along with running, traveling and her two shih tzu dogs, said her daughter.

Mrs. Stallone was active in her children's schools and volunteered at Belvedere-Hawthorne Nursery School, Mount Tamalpais School in Mill Valley and The Branson School in Ross.

In 2006, she joined the Women's Board of the California Pacific Medical Center Foundation. She held many positions there. In 2009, she served as co-chair of the debutante ball.

In addition to her daughter, Alexandra Stallone of San Francisco, Mrs. Stallone is survived by a son, Matthew Stallone of Tiburon; her father and stepmother, Myron and Rita Murray of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a niece, Laura Rodriguez of Bothell, Wash.; and a nephew, Landon Guelff of Santa Barbara.

The memorial service will be private.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Women's Board of CPMC Foundation, P.O. Box 7999, San Francisco, CA 94120.
