Robert Philipp Sweeney

Robert Philipp Sweeney, an aspiring actor who had worked as a part-time cashier at Woodlands Market until a few months ago, was killed in an automobile accident in Pasadena on Feb. 22. He was 24.

Mr. Sweeney, who grew up in the Los Angeles area but had been living with his grandmother in Belvedere while pursuing acting roles in San Francisco, moved back south to Alhambra in late 2014.

He reportedly had a small role in the hit series "Mad Men" to his credit.
In addition to his grandmother, Joan Philipp of Belvedere, Mr. Sweeney is survived by his parents, Shawna and Richard Sweeney of San Marino; two brothers, Henry and Charlie Sweeney; two aunts, Christy Philipp and Vicky Will; and four uncles, David, Bill, Kevin and John Sweeney.

A memorial service was held March 1 at the home of local friends of the family. Donations to assist Mr. Sweeney's family may be made at gofundme.com/n24jw8.
