spacee spacee Elizabeth Curtis

Sister Elizabeth Curtis, a retired St. Hilary School teacher and adult catechism instructor, died at Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo, of cancer. She was 67.

Sister Curtis was born in Wexford, Ireland. She entered the Convent of the Sisters of Holy Faith at age 18. After her training, she was sent to the United States, where she served in parishes in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Tiburon, Benicia and Fairfield, as well as in American Samoa.

She had been posted to Holy Spirit in Fairfield for the past 10 years and was serving as the school principal.

She had attended St. Hilary's Golden Jubilee anniversary celebration last spring.

She is survived by her sister, Sister Goretti Curtis; three brothers, Mogue, Paudge and Harry Curtis, all of Wexford; and many nieces and nephews.
Services have been held. Burial will be in Ireland. Donations may be sent to the Sr. Liz Curtis Scholarship Memorial Fund or the Sisters of the Holy Faith Retirement Fund, both in care of Holy Spirit Church, 1050 N. Texas St., Fairfield, CA 94533.
