Around Town
We like to think we're just regular folks like anyone, anywhere else. We just happen to be lucky enough to live in one of the world's most beautiful places and that makes our lives special, to us anyway. We are surrounded by extraordinary people and events and yet, sometimes, it is the ordinary that gets our attention. See for yourself.
Tending Blackie's Grave
Eli Duggan-Daniels, of Kensington, six-year-old grandson of Ken and Marilyn Fye, of Tiburon, helped in their bi-annual maintenance of Blackie’s grave. He is holding the paint can he used to paint the cross and fence while his granny and grandpa replaced parts of the broken fencing.
Tiburon Classic Car Show Draws Thousands
The Tiburon Classic Car Show is a huge success if the numbers of viewers means anything. Several thousand people get up close and personal with 67 polished and gleaming classic cars lined up along Shoreline Park with their owners standing by to answer questions. It’s 16 Years For Tiburon Triathlons
Fred Holden, of Belvedere, has participated in the Tiburon Triathlon every year since it began. The 16th annual event took place last July 30th with 334 individuals and 27 relay teams finishing the half-mile swim in Belvedere Cove, nine-mile bike ride down Paradise Drive and two-mile run around the Belvedere Lagoon.

BBOB
'Belvedere Boys on Bikes'
To celebrate his 65th birthday, Ed Still of Belvedere rode his bicycle the 1,200-mile length of California. That was in 1995. Before he turned 70, Still had ridden the entire West Coast and then some, from Vancouver to the Mexican border.
Still is serious about the importance of biking, but he is not one who will go flying by you on the multi-use path and knock the Starbucks right out of your hand or freak out your beagle. He rides 30-40 miles on Saturday mornings with the B-BOBs (Belvedere Boys on Bikes) and they stop at red lights and stop signs. At the end of the ride, they stop at Caffe Acri.

Angel Island to Tiburon Swim
Teen sisters Christina and Victoria Brown come out of the bay after practicing for the RCP Tiburon Mile Open Water Race. They are the daughters of George and Cindy Brown of Tiburon.
Whale of a Fish
It may not be a record, but this 40-pound, four-foot-long king salmon caught off Stinson Beach by Brooke Halsey of Tiburon is as big as his four-year-old daughter Lauren.
Wooden Boat Show
Fifty-five beautiful, well-maintained, classic sailboats pulled into the Corinthian Yacht Club in June for the annual Master Mariners Wooden Boat Show. And the crowds loved what they saw
Small skiffs, dories and Whitehalls shared dock space with larger, vintage vessels. As sailors, locals and tourists viewed the boats and drooled over the gleaming brightwork, owners told tales of the boats’ histories and the labor involved in keeping them seaworthy.
A lively jazz band played all day while kids learned how to build toy sailboats that actually sail.
Mark Rayant of Belvedere crafted a small wooden boat at the show and intends to sail it on the Belvedere Lagoon.
