Tiburon neighbors, officials at odds over parking crackdown on Mar West Street

Loral Wright said she was at a loss when she found a Tiburon Police Department notice under her car’s wiper blades in late March informing her she would no longer be allowed to park on the narrow section of road in front of her house at 1895 Mar West Street like she had been for years. Public-safety officials say that in the aftermath of last year’s fast-moving Camp Fire, which destroyed the town of Paradise in Butte County and killed 85 people on its way to becoming the deadliest wildfire in state history, Tiburon is looking critically at narrow streets like Mar West Street that fire trucks and emergency vehicles would have a tough time navigating.
