Resident’s walking tours offer a glimpse into Tiburon’s past

During his daily walks with his dog, Lili, along the Tiburon waterfront, Elliott Brown would frequently see people disembark the ferry to spend the day in town. Often, he says, he would catch them looking around, trying to get their bearings. Being a gregarious guy, Brown says, he was quick to offer help, asking if he could guide them to a particular destination or give them information about local attractions. “One person said to me, ‘You really ought to lead walking tours,’” says Brown, 74. In May, Brown launched Tiburon Walking Tours, paid guided tours of historic downtown Tiburon offered through Belvedere-Tiburon Recreation. (Elliot Karlan photo / For The Ark)
