The Richardson Bay Regional Agency is attempting to actively limit the number of derelict boats brought into the troubled anchorage between Belvedere and Sausalito — and it will have a new harbormaster and outreach coordinator to help enforce the rules and provide help to anchor-outs living on the bay. The agency’s board of directors at its July 11 meeting made a series of moves aimed at improving the management of the anchorage after years of complaints. The board voted 3-0, with Tiburon councilmember and board representative Jim Fraser absent, to approve an ordinance clarifying vessel conditions required for mooring and anchoring in Richardson Bay and a resolution to enforce an existing ordinance that requires boats to obtain a permit after 72 hours.
