Unsafe bay bacteria levels close third beach in Tiburon

Public-health officials appear to be no closer to identifying the source of bacteria that continues to render Blackie’s Pasture and Greenwood Cove beaches off-limits to walkers and waders — and the polluted water has now affected the accessibility of a third local beach. Representatives from the Richardson Bay Audubon Center say they were advised by county Environmental Health Services officials last week to keep the children attending its annual summer camps — which focus on shoreline nature education — away from Lani’s Beach because of the area’s proximity to the contaminated water.
