Station facelifts, wage increases in Tiburon fire district budget

Despite the economic shake-up caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Tiburon Fire Protection District is projecting a balanced $9.07 million budget next fiscal year — though the budget’s razor-thin $510 surplus would leave the district with little wiggle room before it would have to tap into reserves. The draft includes a $400,000 renovation of the nearly 60-year-old Trestle Glen fire station, nearly $650,000 toward new computer equipment and upgrades to the downtown station, a 4-percent increase in salaries and benefits and a major boost in staff training and coursework.
