30-year R&S owner retires, turns over shop to longtime mechanic

In 1978, John Everett landed a job at R&S Service Station on downtown Tiburon Boulevard. At the time, Tiburon’s Town Hall and library across the street were yet to be built, CVS was a Safeway — and R&S still sold gas. Thousands of oil changes, smog checks, tune-ups, brake jobs and repairs later, Everett, now 66, is hanging up his coveralls to move north to the Shasta area for a life of fishing, camping and reading books, passing the welding torch by selling the station to 14-year employee Miguel Angel Lemus of Novato.
