Belvedere board recommends closing home-construction loopholes

Belvedere officials have outlined a list of long-term projects and policy changes they hope to prioritize over the next 12-18 months, including continuing efforts to shore up the city’s seawalls, adjusting the city’s fee structure to boost revenue and staying ahead of the region’s increasing affordable-housing requirements by looking “outside the box” for new development opportunities. The list was developed Jan. 19 at the City Council’s annual retreat. The council typically meets each fall to discuss goals and policy changes, but this year’s retreat was pushed into the new year and held by Zoom teleconference amid the pandemic.
