Belvedere resident Louis “Bud” Spiesberger has experienced a lot in his 100 years of life, from making maps for Gen. George Patton during World War II to forging a career as an investment broker to traveling the world.

He’s narrowed down his keys to happiness to four things, he says: being able to make a living, staying in good health, having a good wife and living in a great place.

Spiesberger turns 100 today, Jan. 25, and last week celebrated the milestone with a small group of family and friends at the Tiburon Peninsula Club. There were balloons, cake, champagne and presents — along with a lot of reminiscing.
