Belvedere native brings tie brand to Ark Row shop

When Belvedere native Miriam Zelinsky was a little girl, her dad, the late Ed Zelinsky, always let her pick out his ties, a staple of his wardrobe. Ed, a downtown Tiburon commercial property owner, would indulge Miriam by allowing her to choose ties she liked based on the pattern or motifs, not necessarily what matched or coordinated with his suit.

So perhaps it’s not surprising that Miriam Zelinsky eventually went into business designing, manufacturing and selling high-quality silk ties and bow ties, along with men’s and women’s scarves, including Italian-wool scarves for men, and Peruvian-cotton socks.

Zelinsky, 38, has mostly built her Lazyjack Press brand by going to trade shows and holding pop-ups, taking bulk orders from retailers all over the world.

Now she has opened her first brick-and-mortar store on Ark Row, the same street her dad loved to stroll and visit with his tenants. Her mother, Laleh Zelinsky, is her landlord at the small space at 80D Main St., the former home of Ella Lafay women’s clothing boutique.
