Donate children’s books through July 15 to help build library in Africa

A Tiburon family is aiming to collect 1,000 new or gently used children’s books to help build a library in the African nation of Ghana.

Mount Tamalpais School seventh-grader Elsie Chamberlain, her sister, third-grader Molly, and their mom, Alex, are collecting the books, as well as monetary donations, for the African Library Project, a New Orleans-based nonprofit that builds public libraries in rural African communities in an effort to combat poverty and illiteracy.
