Reed district superintendent to retire at end of school year

After six years at the helm of the Reed Union School District, Superintendent Nancy Lynch will retire at the end of the school year, capping a 34-year career in public education. Lynch announced her retirement plans in a Nov. 16 email to the district community. Her last day on the job will be July 2. In a Nov. 18 interview, Lynch said she had been discussing retirement with her husband, Tom, for the past year or so. Though Lynch said she initially thought she might stick around through the end of her current contract, which runs through June 2023, the couple decided in September that Lynch would step down after the current school year concludes.
