Thier named Tiburon mayor for coming year

The Tiburon Town Council has elected Vice Mayor Holli Thier to serve as Tiburon’s mayor and Councilmember Jon Welner as vice mayor for the coming year. Thier succeeds Alice Fredericks, who wrapped up her unprecedented fourth term as mayor; Fredericks, who was first elected to the council in 2003, remains on the board. Thier, 55, was nominated for the top council post by Welner. She’s served on the board since 2017, when she and Kulik were appointed to fill two interim vacancies left by the mid-term resignations of Frank Doyle and Erin Tollini, who moved out of state with their families within a month of each other.
