Tiburon Little League's all-star run ends after championship losses to Petaluma

The Tiburon Peninsula Little League All-Stars’ playoff run has come to an end after a pair of wrenching losses to Petaluma National, falling 3-2 and 8-7 in the Section 1 championship games last week in Alameda

Tiburon was lead by a trio of pitchers. Chase Johnson had a 1.37 earned-run average over 27 innings, striking out 42 batters while only walking nine. William Coleman was not far behind with a stingy 1.91 ERA in his 22 innings of work, also striking out 42 batters. Noah Gersch tossed 17 innings, recording a 2.42 ERA, striking out 18 batters and only walking two.

Logan Scully led Tiburon in batting, with an impressive .517 average. Not far behind were Charlie Osher and Isaac Nikfar with .476 and .471 averages, respectively. Johnson led the team in slugging, blasting four home runs to go along with his .436 batting average and a team-high 20 runs scored. King was the team’s top clutch hitter with 13 runs batted in.
