Two Tiburon artists to display their works at Town Hall

'Lyrics in Green’ by Sandra Wolfson

Tiburon residents Simin Massoudi and Sandra Wolfson will each have their art on display in an upcoming dual exhibit at Tiburon Town Hall.

Massoudi’s show is called “Portraits,” while Wolfson’s exhibit is “Reconfigure”; both open March 5, with an artists’ reception that evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Both run through April 29.

Wolfson’s exhibit, which is downstairs at Town Hall, is divided into three sections. The first is a group of interconnected mixed media on wood panels hanging in the main lobby. The second, hanging on the back wall of council chambers, is a group of six colorful serigraphs, a fine-art print process in which ink is forced through a finely woven screen onto the paper below. The third is a group of eight pieces, also on the back wall of council chambers, that convey the beauty of the Irish landscape in abstract form. Wolfson created them in September 2022 while she was an artist-in-residence at the Burren College of Art in County Clare, Ireland.

Massoudi’s “Portraits,” upstairs at Town Hall, showcases her paintings of people, though she notes they are never copies of a specific person. She describes her art as “semi-abstract figurative work” and says her forte is her flowing arabesque line drawings.
