Tiburon teen earns international master chess title

Tiburon teen Ladia Jirasek — already a national chess master — has now achieved international recognition. The College of Marin student recently took first place in the under-18 section of the 2018 North American Youth Chess Championships in Puerto Nuevo, Mexico, earning him a gold medal and an “international master” chess title.
