Tiburon fire districts hire new staff to focus on prevention, education


After two years of historically devastating wildfires that ravaged large swaths of Northern California, local fire officials are hiring additional staff to identify high-risk fire areas on the Tiburon Peninsula and to better educate residents about fire safety. Both the Tiburon and Southern Marin fire protection districts are bringing on fire-prevention specialists who will work directly with residents in their own backyards, starting with areas overgrown with highly combustible vegetation and those bordering the peninsula’s several open spaces.
