94920 home prices rank third in Marin and No. 32 in nation

With a median home price of $3 million this year, the shared Belvedere-Tiburon ZIP code is ranked No. 32 in the nation — 11th in the Bay Area and third in Marin — according to a new report from market-research outlet PropertyShark.

The analysis of home sales from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31 showed Atherton leading the way nationally for the sixth consecutive year, at $7.9 million, one of a record 14 ZIPs in the U.S. surpassing a $4 million median. Ross, at $5.5 million, was tops in Marin and No. 3 nationwide, edged out by Sagaponack, N.Y.’s $5.75 million and leading Miami Beach, $5.2 million, and Beverly Hills, $5.12 million.

For Marin, Stinson Beach ranked second, 21st nationwide, at $3.53 million to round out the only three communities in the county exceeding a $3 million median.

Combining Belvedere and Tiburon together rubbed local real-estate agents the wrong way. If the rankings were broken out by municipality, the report would have shown the median sale price for a Belvedere house during that period was $4.7 million and, for Tiburon, $2.8 million.

That split would lift Belvedere to No. 7 nationwide, third in the Bay Area and second in Marin.
