Belvedere-Tiburon Library exhibit showcases creativity of local artists
More than two dozen Tiburon Peninsula artists will display their works in the Belvedere-Tiburon Library’s latest exhibit, “By 94920: Celebrating Creativity.”
The show opens Aug. 17 with an artists’ reception from 6 to 8 p.m. and runs through Oct. 22. As part of the exhibit, there will be a library-hosted ARTalk 6-8 p.m. Sept. 28 in which art historian and curator Lauren Ryan will discuss Marin artists from the 1940s-1970s before transitioning into a discussion of contemporary Marin artists, focusing on a handful of works in the exhibit.
“By 94920: Celebrating Creativity” drew nearly 250 entries from 67 professional and amateur artists living in the 94920 ZIP code, and the 29 on display were chosen by Belvedere resident Celeste Maier of Anthony Maier, a fine arts gallery in Mill Valley; she chose the entries without knowing the identities of the artists.
