Belvedere has decided to pluck its next city manager from within its ranks, promoting Public Works Director Robert Zadnik to the top role.
The City Council on April 7 announced it had offered the job to Zadnik, who also serves as the city’s emergency-preparedness manager, after interviewing him and one other internal candidate in a closed-session meeting.
He’s set to assume the job upon outgoing City Manager Craig Middleton’s retirement on June 15; a formal contract is set to be reviewed and approved by the council at its May 9 meeting.
