Library to exhibit works from Del Mar art students
The Belvedere-Tiburon Library’s annual exhibit featuring art from Del Mar Middle School students is back after a three-year hiatus.
The showcase of works from the school’s seventh- and eighth-graders opens in the library’s art gallery March 16 with an artists’ reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and runs through April 13.
Students in Del Mar art teacher Aaron Snyder’s classes have typically exhibited their work in the library annually, but because of the pandemic and the library’s expansion construction, the show has not been held since 2019.
The theme of this year’s show is the beauty of nature, Snyder says, with students depicting local views and Bay Area cityscapes in a variety of mediums, from silk screening and linoleum block prints to digital art and paintings.
“The kids really took this assignment to heart and chose places that were special to them,” he says.
