Tiburon Peninsula Little Leaguers and others surround San Francisco Giants legend and Tiburon resident Barry Bonds on March 18 after Bonds and Giants’ mascot Lou Seal made a guest appearance for the league’s opening-day parade and festivities.

Players and families gathered at the southern end of Old Rail Trail, across from the Belvedere-Tiburon Library, and marched down the Tiburon Boulevard sidewalk to Main Street for a block party that featured music, food service from local restaurants, a pitching game for kids, a booth selling league-branded shirts and caps and a fundraising wine and beer bar.

The league expects to field 30 teams with 300 local kids this year. For more information, visit tiburonll.org.
