Acacia-Laurel undergrounding district gets a final price tag of $3.3 million


The final cost to bury the wires and poles in Belvedere’s Acacia-Laurel Utility Undergrounding Assessment District has come in at $3.3 million, a 19 percent increase over earlier unofficial estimates. The new figure is according to a report from the engineer of work on the project, ILS & Associates. The City Council voted 3-0, with Nancy Kemnitzer and Bob McCaskill recused because they live within 500 feet of the district, at a special meeting July 11 to approve the report and put the district out to ballot.
