Decades-old song celebrating Tiburon resurfaces

A long-buried song celebrating the charms of Tiburon has resurfaced some 40 years after it was written, likely for a local party to celebrate the U.S. bicentennial anniversary. Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society archivist David Gotz recently found the sheet music for the tune “Did I Ever Have Fun in Tiburon” while cataloguing newly donated historical materials. The lyrics were written in 1976 by then-Reedlands neighborhood resident Houston Levers, who worked in public relations, including a stint at the J. Walter Thompson ad agency. The melody was composed by Claudio Medeiros, a jazz pianist who has performed all over the Bay Area. (Video by Dave Gotz / Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society)
