The peninsula resident’s guide to the Nov. 6 ballot

Voting is underway for the Nov. 6 general election, which features several key local board races and ballot measures, a high-profile race to succeed Jerry Brown as California’s governor and a slew of statewide propositions governing everything from housing to daylight saving time to property taxes. Among the high-profile local measures are proposed parcel taxes for residents of the Southern Marin Fire Protection and Tamalpais Union High School districts and Measure AA, a renewal of a half-cent sales tax that currently generates about $27 million annually for transportation and transit programs throughout Marin. Tiburon Peninsula voters will also decide races for the boards of the Richardson Bay Sanitary District, the Sanitary District No. 5 of Marin and the Tamalpais Union High School District.
