Tiburon forms panel to hash out springtime use of McKegney Field

Tiburon is reconsidering a plan to give the Tiburon Peninsula Soccer Club priority access and discounted reservation fees to use the newly renovated McKegney Green playing field this spring after receiving pushback from the field’s other primary user, the Southern Marin Lacrosse Club. Town staff had recommended the Tiburon Parks, Open Space and Trails Commission approve a plan that would have allowed the soccer club first choice in booking the field during the upcoming spring season and granted the club a five-year grace period with reduced reservation fees. The town is contemplating changing the reservation fees for the field to $90 per hour from $35 per hour, with the soccer club — but not the lacrosse club — paying $60 per hour during its grace period.
