Unique-looking sticky monkey flower easy to spot and identify

Children love the sticky monkey flower. The stem is truly sticky when squeezed between a thumb and forefinger. The bright orange flowers resemble smiling monkeys and are easy to spot and identify. The trumpet-shaped blossoms are about 1 inch across with green leaves and 2-3 inches long on very sticky brittle stems. They can grow 2-3 feet tall. (Joan Linn Bekins photo / For The Ark)
