Tanya Elizabeth Haralampos Pikios

August 9, 2019

Many will remember Tanya for her colorful and vivacious outfits, whether it be roller skating down Blackie’s Pasture path with her parrot, Rudy, on her shoulder, or helping out her husband at his barber shop, Harry’s Hair Designs.

Tanya passed away in San Francisco on April 4 2019 after losing her battle with cancer. She was one week shy of her 59th birthday.

Tanya moved to California from Ohio in the 80’s, first living in Palo Alto and then moving to Tiburon shortly thereafter. Tanya worked as a model and had small parts in several movies. She also held a variety of retail and childcare jobs. Her passion, however, was dancing. Tanya became a skilled belly dancer and also loved participating in local dance performances.

In 2004 she married the love of her life, Harry Pikios, owner of Harry’s Hair Designs, located on the Boardwalk. Tanya immersed herself in Greek culture, learning the language and customs. Harry adored her and always referred to her as “my sweet Greek wife”. They spent many summers in Greece.

Tanya nursed Harry until his untimely death in 2011. Sadly, Tanya never really recovered from his loss, visiting his grave almost every Sunday while she was still able. We take comfort knowing they are together again now.

Tanya is survived by her mother, Sylvia Wilson, brothers Barry and Timothy and sister Karen, all of Ohio. Missing her terribly is her Tiburon family: Randy and Carolyn Dilena, and the three children she referred to as her own, having helped raise them since birth: Brady, Amanda and Scott Dilena.

Please join us to remember and celebrate our lovely, colorful, one-of-a-kind Tanya at 5PM on Sunday August 18th at Tiburon Town Hall, 1505 Tiburon Blvd, Tiburon. In Tanya’s honor, please wear your brightest, most colorful outfit! She never liked black.
