Budding artists get the spotlight in Tiburon Town Hall show

The newest art exhibit at Tiburon Town Hall highlights “closet artists” — Tiburon Peninsula artists who have never before exhibited their work. The idea for the exhibit, sponsored by the Tiburon Heritage and Arts Commission, came from a discussion at a dinner party attended by commission Chair Victoria Fong. The group realized there was a plethora of budding artists on the Tiburon Peninsula who had not been part of a show for a variety of reasons, including being too shy or being new to the craft and not having much inventory. The commission put out a call for artists, and 17 Tiburon Peninsula residents responded. Their work will be on display through Oct. 31 in the upstairs Community Room of Town Hall. There is an artists’ reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 15. (Diane Smith photo / For The Ark)
