Tiburon Peninsula powers up; schools back in session tomorrow; debris boxes for spoiled food
For outages related to Pacific Gas and Electric Co.'s public safety power shutoff events, power has been restored to all neighborhoods in Tiburon, Belvedere and Strawberry, according to the latest outage maps. There are a few isolated outages, to single homes, in Tiburon for which PG&E is assessing the cause.
The Reed Union School District and Tamalpais Union High School District have announced their schools will resume classes tomorrow, Oct. 31. Tam district officials say Redwood High School will be operating on a 1-7 class period schedule, while all other schools will be operating on a normal Thursday schedule.
Mill Valley Refuse Service has provided two debris boxes for peninsula residents to dispose of spoiled food, according to a special bulletin of Tiburon Talk, the town's newsletter. One debris box will be at the Blackie's Pasture gravel parking lot and another will be at the parking lot next to Tiburon Town Hall, 1505 Tiburon Blvd. Officials say the boxes should be available sometime today and remain through Friday, Nov. 1. The boxes are for food waste only.
