Re-energized PG&E power line starts tree fire in Tiburon


A newly re-energized Pacific Gas and Electric Co. power line damaged by strong winds over the weekend ignited a tree dangerously close to a Tiburon home Oct. 29. The incident occurred about 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, not long after power was restored to homes on Hacienda Drive after a planned two-day outage across 37 counties, initiated by PG&E amid high fire danger. A PG&E representative was not immediately able to say how the damaged line was overlooked by workers tasked with inspecting all the lines in the de-energized areas before power was restored.
