Belvedere-Tiburon rec agency gets nearly $100k for salaries, maintenance and utility costs
With a $16,000 boost from the town, the Tiburon Peninsula Chamber of Commerce’s COVID-19 relief fund for small businesses has raised about $39,000 — money that is set to be doled out this week to local businesses in need. Tiburon’s contribution, approved unanimously by the Town Council at its May 6 teleconference meeting, will come out of the $186,000 the town previously earmarked for the development of a chamber-run downtown visitor center. That center will now be scaled back and moved from its planned location on Fountain Plaza, a high-traffic site along downtown Tiburon Boulevard at Main Street, to a smaller vacant space farther up Main Street toward Ark Row.
