Belvedere OKs 1% wage bump for most staff, but cops reject offer

Belvedere officials have approved a 1-percent salary bump for most city staff, slashing in half a previously proposed 2-percent increase amid concerns about a pandemic-related recession and the rising cost of pension obligations. However, the same offer was rejected by Belvedere Peace Officers’ Association, forcing the city and union back to the negotiating table.
