Two Del Mar Middle School students test positive for COVID-19

Two sixth-graders at Del Mar Middle School have tested positive for COVID-19, district officials said last week, forcing their respective classes to revert to full-time distance learning for two weeks under public-health guidelines. Superintendent Nancy Lynch notified the community of the positive tests in a brief Nov. 12 email, saying the district had received confirmation that same day. Lynch said the school and the county public-health department are working to contact those who may have been in close contact with the students and would need to quarantine.
