Belvedere can give $150k to library, finance panel says

Belvedere’s Finance Committee is recommending the city contribute $150,000 to the ongoing Belvedere-Tiburon Library expansion project — less than half of what library officials asked for — contingent on Belvedere receiving its expected share of federal aid from the most recent pandemic-relief bill. The committee at its April 20 teleconference meeting voted unanimously to recommend the contribution over the $400,000 requested by the Belvedere-Tiburon Library Agency, with Finance Committee members saying the city has more pressing needs, including its multimillion-dollar seawall project and rising pension costs, that take precedence over the library expansion.
