Belvedere to promote public works director to new city manager


Belvedere has decided to pluck its next city manager from within its ranks, promoting Public Works Director Robert Zadnik to the top role.


The City Council on April 7 announced it had offered the job to Zadnik, who also serves as the city’s emergency-preparedness manager, after interviewing him and one other internal candidate in a closed-session meeting.


He’s set to assume the job upon outgoing City Manager Craig Middleton’s retirement on June 15; a formal contract is set to be reviewed and approved by the council at its May 9 meeting.
