Coronavirus shutdown hits Tiburon Peninsula businesses during the holidays

Tiburon Peninsula businesses are once again tasked with adjusting to a new set of pandemic regulations, which for restaurants includes eliminating outdoor dining and for retail a rollback to 20-percent capacity. DeAnn Biss, the executive director of the Tiburon Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, said local businesses were “extremely disheartened” to hear about the latest restrictions, which took effect Dec. 8 and will run through at least Jan. 4. “They were devastated,” she said. “The holiday season in particular is critical for our businesses, and to have to limit capacity indoors for retailers or close all indoor and outdoor dining is a major blow, in what has been a horrible year.” (Elliot Karlan photo / For The Ark)
