Hopefuls for Tiburon council square off in candidate forum

Counterclockwise from top, Tiburon Town Council candidates Noah Griffin, Kathleen Defever, Nora Noguez and Brian McCullough take part in a Sept. 29 candidate forum co-hosted by The Ark and League of Women Voters of Marin, with moderator Linda Deer.

The four Tiburon residents competing for one interim seat on the Town Council addressed issues ranging from revitalizing downtown to disaster preparedness to housing challenges at a Sept. 29 virtual candidate forum sponsored by The Ark and the League of Women Voters of Marin.

Kathleen Defever, Noah Griffin, Brian McCullough and Nora Noguez are running in the Nov. 2 election for the seat vacated by David Kulik, who resigned last spring after moving out of town with his family. The winner will serve out the remaining three years of Kulik’s term, through November 2024.

Some 56 residents tuned into the forum, which was live-streamed on YouTube. Candidates spent about an hour answering written questions submitted by audience members.
