Restaurant concept is OK’d for ex-Shark’s Deli site

A new 138-seat restaurant has been approved for the long-vacant Shark’s Deli site at Tiburon Boulevard and Beach Road — though the property owner has yet to lock in an operator. The Tiburon Planning Commission at its March 24 teleconference meeting voted 3-0 to approve a conditional use permit for a restaurant at 1600 Tiburon Blvd., which would feature a contemporary-yet-retro design that harkens back to the building’s roots as a Mobil service station. The design, however, must first go through the town’s Design Review Board.
