Tiburon backs $298K subsidy for late ferry

Tiburon will pay up to $298,000 to help subsidize two years of late-night ferry service that officials hope will help boost downtown business.

The Town Council at a special Oct. 28 teleconference meeting voted 4-0 to approve a term sheet for the subsidy, which will be used to support Tiburon-based Tideline Marine Group’s pilot program to operate late-night runs between the town and San Francisco. The council currently has one vacancy.

The final agreement will be brought back for approval at a future Town Council meeting.
