Tiburon nears $600K deal to buy land next to McKegney Green

The town of Tiburon has reached a tentative deal to buy a swath of waterfront real estate next to McKegney Green for $600,000.

The Town Council is set to review the agreement at its teleconference meeting set for 5 tonight, Nov. 3.

The four parcels belong to the Richardson Bay Sanitary District and sit between the park and the district’s Blackie’s Pasture headquarters. They’re occupied by four briny settlement ponds, formerly used to filter treated wastewater that could be recycled and sold to the town to irrigate McKegney Green and South of the Knoll Park.
